Saving HTML input fields as XML

Hi guys,

I need to create some sort of interface whereby a user can input various pieces of information into text fields, and then by clicking a submit button, the information will be stored as an X file.
I've seen various ways of doing this but nearly all of the solutions involve the use of ASP, which I am not familiar with nor have the time to learn. Are there any other possible solutions to this just using HTM, XML, Javascript or something similar without going into server-side development?
