I am using the standard built in password recovery control.When it emails the password its not the correct fomat like the password for this account was "noah2006"  this is what was sent "Lyu]%fbGGegh8_"  how do I change it to display correctly?

Thats because, Password are one way HASHED by the control and really impossible to recover the previous one, you have to create a fresh password. Please follow the links below...
