I couldnt find a list or discussion on the site which talks about when points are given for activities.
This site is pretty unique in that it combines everything under a single system such as blogging, articles, events, etc.
Is there a definitive list for what points are awarded and when?

Yep.. It would be nice if there is something like a "Community Recognition" page so that other members especially the "New" ones will have an idea on point system works in this site.
Anyways.. here are some of the things that I noticed,
Posting a blog = 15pts
Posting an Article = 20pts
Reply to a post = 2pts
Marked your reply as "A" = 10pts
Reply to a blog or article comments = 1pts(not really sure though, i think its 2pts :) )
Thats all that I've noticed for now.. :)
