Hello Guys,
Not here to complain just curious to know couple of things .
Site Intro says :
From above intro line i think we need to post programing/development related content right ????But i can see few blogs and articles on WINDOWS 7 i wonder when did microsoft intergrated window 7 in VS :) ! Even admin/moderator are posting content other than programming .
If this is allowed than why are you restricting the site by giving name CODEASP.net , Title should be Tech Community instead of the current tittle !
Also one for more thingh what is the Criteria of making an article featured (Articles comes in featured list in home page) i guess we have to be MODERATOR/ADMIN right???.
Bcoz frankly guys i can see much better and informative article on the site which are not came once in the featured list like this article http://codeasp.net/articles/asp-net/175/viewstate-management-in-asp-net-4-0
http://codeasp.net/articles/asp-net/171/viewstate-and-controlstate-in-asp-net by samir nigam.
Don't you think this is partiality towards your own content? No more to Say :) !! Good Luck CodeAsp.net !!
Regards
Shaitender

Shaitender ,I am agree with you
on home page there is 5 featured articles
3 articles are written by Raghav Khunger
1 articles are written by Vincent Maverick Durano
1 articles are written by Hajan Selmani
and I have noticed all these three persons are MODERATOR/ADMIN
So, in codeasp.net if you want your article will be Featured for that good article content is not necessay ,for that you have to MODERATOR/ADMIN
Good policy of codeasp.net :)
Good points!
Few clarifications:
1. CodeAsp.Net is primarily targeted towards ASP.NET, but no MS technology works in a single silo environement, so you might see some Windows 7 articles, some IIS articles or some cool hardware stuff written as blog posts. Note that CodeAsp.Net also offers technical blogs to individual members and they may post varied technical or non-technical content (like talking about code camps, marriage, holidays etc in some cases). So we have a very relaxed policy here.
2. Regarding Featured Articles section, its not working as of now. We have deliberately put that on-hold for some time till we upgrade to version 2.0 (due next month). Once thats done, we will frequently shuffle Featured Articles and make sure that non-admins or non-moderators also get a piece of the action!
Keep up the good work guys! And we like the way you find these issues and report it to us, this kind of feedback is very valuable for us!
Thanks,
Vivek

Technically there are 22 featured articles.

In the articles you've seen in the home page (the top first 5) Yes.. But please note that there are articles that were featured by non Admin/Moderators and they are: Ajay Meher,Harish Ranganathan, Matthew Harris and Samir NIGAM.

I believed this is not going to be this way.
Hi Shaitender,
No, it doesn't have to be that way. Any articles from a member can be featured regardless of your role (member/moderator/admin).
Hi guys.
I would also like to add my contribution here.
I agree with Vincent and Vivek too.
Vivek said there would be some fixes in the v2.0 of the CodeASP.NET.
However, few months back I saw the Maintaining States of Selected CheckBoxes in Different Pages inside the GridView article from Samir Nigam was in the list of featured articles shown on the home page.
As I can notice, the list of featured articles shown on the home page now are actually the latest 5 articles written in CodeASP.NET. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Here is the full list of featured articles: http://www.codeasp.net/articles/0/featured.
My conclusion is that the five featured articles shown on the homepage have just got there randomly.
Shuffling the articles from time to time would be great feature in the community.
Kind Regards,Hajan
