How to ask questions on forums

Welcome to CodeASP.NET!
Below are some of the tips which you can follow while posting questions on CodeASP.NET forums: 

Be specific

Asking unclear questions won't help. If you are going to ask unclear question there may be more probability of receiving the same kind of unclear answers.

Avoid these kinds of questions:

• I am using ASP.NET. I have a page I am getting error. Help me!
• I have a modal on my page, it is not opening. Tell me why it is behaving so?

Stop showing "Urgency" of your question

Stop posting questions with these keywords in your question: Urgent, Very urgent, Very important, ASAP... etc. We all are here on forums to share and help others at our wish and self-interest. People who are answering at forums are not paid and employed only to reply to questions very urgent. Everybody's time is precious and it is at their will and self-interest to reply according to their schedule. 99% of the time when people are asking questions, they need their answers at that time only. So be patient for good replies. Forums are a kind of tool where you can share and post questions and get replies via answers, it should not be misunderstood that it is the place for handing over your job's work by asking with urgency.

Avoid these kinds of questions:

• Urgent Question!!!!!.......
• URGENT !!! >>>>>PLS HELP !!!!.......
• I am at deadline reply me..
• Dead end....
• Reply FAST!..
• I am on deadline!!!Boss will kill me, reply me ASAP
  
  
  

Be formal with your language in the questions

The above sentence doesn't mean to avoid using words like IMO, IMHO etc., but to avoid using words like dude, boys and girls, brb. Remaining formal with your language leaves a good impact to the user who you are expecting to answer.

Avoid these kind of lines:

• What'ssss up!
• Come on... boys and girls, help me.
• Come on.. why are you not helping me.
• Hi Dude, I have a question..
• If you will help me I will chat with you and become friend.

Be polite and humble: 
You should this maintain this behaviour. Nothing is stopping you to write May, Can, Could etc. You are communicating with other people who expect the same respect what you demand. Treat the other persons in the same manner what you expect from them. Don't get panic or angry after not getting satisfactory answers.

Avoid these kind of lines:

• WTF
• What The F**K
• I will see you all.
• I will see you all who are not replying.
• I will see them who are not giving good replies. 
• Dare to reply me.
• Where have all gone, why nobody is replying me, I am very angry.
• Why the hell nobody is answering me.
• Where the hell everybody has gone instead of replying me.
• Who the hell deleted my post?
• Why the hell you didn't mark my answer as answered?
• I am in very bad mood, I need reply now!!
• What the hell..why are my comments pending moderation always? I dont like this author..

Ask relevant questions:

The question should be relevant. Ask relevant question on what is this site for. The questions should not be out of this world. It should not be harmful to a particular person like doing spam, deleting someone data etc.
 
Avoid these kind of questions:

• I am not feeling well after programming, what to do?
• What kind of tubelight I should use while working?
• What should I wear while doing programming?
• I feel sleepy while working, help me?
• I have a web page. I want 2 million records to come at once at my page.
• I want to delete the DB of my enemy's site tell me some hack
• I want to spam, tell me how to do it?
• I want to learn jQuery but I hate JavaScript.
• I want to make site like yours so share your source code with me.
• I am a newbie, I want to make a search engine like Google.
  
  
  

Help yourself first before asking questions:
The above line means that you should try by yourself what you are asking, you should not ask questions blindly. You should explain in your question what did you try, what went wrong, where is the error, is there any other way of doing it.. etc. and then ask the questions in specific manner to get good replies.

Avoid these kind of questions:

• I want to make a shopping cart. Let me know.
• I want to make a login page, give me the coding.
• Give me the code of RSS.
• I need source code of xxxx functionality.
• I am very busy, I can't code. Give me the code of WCF.
• Give me the source code of Twitter, FB and Orkut. Urgent!

The code( of ASP.NET, C#, SQL etc..) should be added via Insert Code button  in the text editor. The codehighlighter will add colours to your code so that it can be represented in good manner so that it can look good to eyes.
