If you want to save few clicks to start Visual Studio with a particular project|solution opened at Windows Start, this blog will help you. Below are the steps which will help you to do the same:

  1. Copy the Visual Studio shortcut.

  2. Select the "StartUp" folder from "AllPrograms"

  3. Right click it and select "Open all users" option.

  4. Paste the "Visual Studio" shortcut you copied in first step into this (Startup) folder. Right click the shortcut and select "Properties".

  5. In the "Shortcut" tab you will see the "Target" textbox with this kind of value:

    "D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe"

Windows Drive may be different for you. In order to open a particular project|solution you need to have the full path for the target file location. In my case it was "D:\GITProjects\TestProject\TestProject-Solution.sln". We need to add "/run" following by the solution path in front of "D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe". The final value should like this

    "D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe" /run "D:\GITProjects\TestProject\TestProject-Solution.sln"

After doing all the steps my Visual studio is started itself on Windows start with the solution I mentioned.
